1995,Michael Reese was nominated as Best Guitarist of the Year at the Los Angeles Music Awards for his work on his first solo album[ Dragonflyer],that took best produced cd of the year.Also in 1995 Michael was invited to play Guitar for the Tommy Bolin Tribute Concerts and became an Official Fender Musical instruments Endorsee.
In 1996 Michael helped form the band F-5 with former Joe Walsh keyboardist Tommy Stephenson and Peter Frampton’s bassist Stan Sheldon. Their first album, Dodging the Dream Killers, was produced by Santana drummer, Michael Shrieve and was nominated by Jazz Central Station as one of the top ten jazz albums of the year.
During the course of his musical career, he has also formed several bands which have been vehicles for his original compositions. He has opened for such rock luminaries as Johnny Winter, Edgar Winter, John Mellencamp, Huey Lewis, Robben Ford, John Mayall, Alice Cooper and Steve Morse
Michael has done extensive work in the studio. His work includes national commercials, feature film scores, Discovery Channel documentaries, ski movie icon Warren Miller’s “Snow Riders”. His film credits include; For Hire, starring Rob Lowe and Joe Montagna; Bleeders, with Rutger Hauer; and Rainbow, featuring Dan Akroyd and Bob Hoskins. In each of these films he worked with the highly regarded film composer Alan Reeves.
